Room with a View
Skelmorlie
Designed by
ChrisSet within a ground floor flat in Skelmorlie with open views across the River Clyde, this project was shaped by its setting. The client was drawn to a modern scheme in shades of blue, with the aim of creating a kitchen that would sit comfortably within its surroundings while still feeling calm and practical to live with.
Ocean Blue fronts establish a strong, confident base, balanced by softer cashmere tones and a dark concrete worktop that anchors the scheme. The palette reflects the changing tones of the landscape beyond, allowing the kitchen to feel connected to its outlook without becoming overly thematic.
Storage was a key consideration, with a large collection of cookbooks needing to be easily accessible. A floating sideboard with integrated shelving was introduced to provide dedicated storage while also creating a more relaxed, informal area within the room. A matching dining table and bench continue the material language, bringing the space together.

“The purchase of a new kitchen can be quite a daunting experience. It is obviously a significant financial investment. There are so many decisions that have to be made regarding layout, units, colour schemes, appliances, flooring, lighting etc.
Initially we only had a rough idea of what we were looking for. It is so important to make the correct choices. However, the most important decision was, without doubt, choosing the right company. We chose Studio One because they offered top quality kitchens at a fair price and project manage the installation from start to finish.
First impressions are important and we were certainly impressed by Chris, who gave us constructive advice, guiding us through the various options, with the aid of 3D imaging, that would meet our brief. Stephanie, using her professional expertise, gave invaluable advice on the aesthetics and ergonomics of the kitchen layout.
Once the key decisions had been made, Alex and his team installed the kitchen within a week of delivery. The team, led by Gary (the perfectionist!) of joiners, plumbers, plasterers and electricians were equally professional. The net result was - our perfect kitchen!
A huge thank you to Alex and family for making the whole venture of kitchen buying and installation such a pleasant experience.”
